After leaving the Bay Area, I flew to my parents' house near Pittsburgh to pack up my furniture to take to New York. Sunday I loaded up a moving truck and drove to New York with my mom. We got a bit of a late start, so we didn't end up arriving in Brooklyn until after 8PM.
I was promptly greeted by the 20 degree cold like a punch in the face. Monday was the first time I've used chapstick in two years. It's a big change. We got everything unloaded Sunday night thanks to the help of my sister's friends Lynn & Devon. We spent Monday unpacking and setting up furniture, but now I'm fully settled in and ready to go.
I had my HR orientation on Tuesday, but I'm not scheduled to work in the kitchen until Friday at 6AM, so I've got today and tomorrow to relax, explore, and figure out the fastest train route to the Time Warner Center.
This is the start of something good.
